Can You Waist-Train While Fasting?
Finding Balance Between Waist Training and Fasting
1. Stand upright with your feet together and wrap the measuring tape around.
2. Find your natural waist, commonly two fingers above your belly button.
3. Record your measurements while sucking in your tummy and wrap the tape around your waist snugly.
4. Refer to the Sugar Shapewear Size Chart, located on every product page, to find your perfect fit.
Shapewear looks small because it’s designed to compress and shape your body.
Sit down, roll the ends of the shapewear into a donut shape, and pull the shapewear up your mid-thighs, inch by inch.
Stand up and pull the shapewear up to your waist.
Once everything is pulled up high to your waist, adjust and pull the shapewear at your thighs for proper coverage.
Ensure your bra isn’t too tight. Tuck the shapewear shorts underneath your bra to prevent them from rolling down.
Lastly, avoid overeating in shapewear to prevent discomfort. Do not wear cotton panties as they can cause friction that will cause thinning to the shapewear fabric.
If you are new to waist trainers, skip them during Raya outings. For first-timers, wearing waist trainers can feel restrictive as you will be visiting, walking, and eating all day.
Your body is not used to the compression, and aesthetically, the waist trainer needs time to mold your waist into natural, smoother curves.
When to Wear a Waist Trainer:
Wear it after visiting or when hosting guests, so you can easily remove it if you need to relax after a big meal.
Waist trainers are great for shaping your waist and helping you feel more supported, especially after indulging in all that delicious Raya food.
Our AirWaist Trainer also offer back support, which can relieve any back pain from long hours of standing or sitting.
Comfort should always come first this Raya! 💖
Waist trainers are awesome for shaping your waist, flattening your belly, and giving you that snatched look in your snug Raya outfits.
But, they also curb your appetite, which is not ideal when you’re planning to enjoy all the delicious Raya food.
What happens if you wear waist trainers and feast on Raya food as you normally would?
You will feel restricted, and over time, it could lead to health issues like acid reflux (GERD) or digestive problems.
While waist trainers are great for shaping, they are not the best option for a big meal-filled day like Raya.
So, what’s ideal?
Opt for shapewear with light to medium shaping made of lightweight fabrics. Explore here.
This way, you will feel supported without feeling restricted, and you can enjoy all your Raya dishes without any discomfort.
Breaking Into Your Waist Trainer, Why It’s a Must!
Just like wearing a new pair of heels, a waist trainer needs time to break in. You wouldn’t wear brand-new stilettos all day without easing into them first, right?
The same goes for waist trainers! Jumping straight into full-time long hours the first time on a hectic day can feel uncomfortable and overwhelming.
Why Break It In?
Waist trainers are designed with firm compression, and the material needs time to mold to your body. If you wear it too tight, too soon, you might feel restricted or uncomfortable.
Slowly easing into it helps the latex-fabric stretch slightly and allows your body to adjust gradually.
How to Season Your Waist Trainer:
1. Start Slow – Wear it for 1 to 2 hours a day in the beginning.
2. Loosen Up – If it feels too tight, use the first row of hooks before tightening over time.
3. Listen to Your Body – A waist trainer should feel snug but never painful or suffocating.
4. Be Consistent – Increase wear time gradually over a few weeks for best results.
Just like how a good pair of heels feels more comfortable after a few wears, a waist trainer becomes easier to wear with time.
Be patient, break it in, and enjoy the support it gives.
It is important to choose shapewear that complements your look. Here’s how to pick the perfect one for Raya:
Step 1: Match It to Your Outfit
For fitted outfits, go for medium-firm shaping that contours and offers lifting support to create clean curves and a flattering body shape. This will ensure your outfit fits seamlessly without bulges.
Step 2: Find Out Your Body Type
Understanding your body type is key to selecting shapewear that works for you. Whether you're looking for tummy control or extra lift, choose shapewear that targets your problem areas for a smooth, natural shape.
Step 3: Pick Breathable Fabrics
Look for shapewear made from lightweight, breathable fabrics. This will help you move freely and stay fresh and dry throughout the day, especially during long Raya celebrations!
Lastly, Don’t Overdo It!
Skip shapewear with heavy shaping control for Raya, especially if you are new to waist training or planning to enjoy lots of Raya food.
Also, avoid over layering and over pairing shapewear. It's all about balance, comfort and looking sleek.
